Charlie Francis established Synergy Mastering to meet the growing demand for his mastering services. He has over thirty years of music industry experience as an engineer and record producer; and, to name a few, the diverse range of artists he’s worked with include REM, Steve Winwood, Will Oldham, Future of The Left, Sweet Baboo, Robyn Hitchcock and The Manic Street Preachers. Charlie is also an accomplished musician and songwriter.
Mastering takes your finished mixes to the level required for a professional release – whether that be through streaming, download, CD or vinyl. The process is simple. You send us your finished mixes at the highest resolution you can. If it’s for digital release, we create mastered files which are returned to you as WAVs. If it’s for a CD, we create a DDP file and provide a DDP player plug-in to preview your CD. Planning to release vinyl? Again, your music is mastered specifically to get the best results from that medium. Unlike digital formats, heavy limiting is not recommended for a loud, punchy vinyl record, but the principles of consistent levels, dynamics, and equalisation are still very important.
